The 15th Ubud Writers & Readers Festival (UWRF) will open on October 24, 2018. UWRF is a celebration of world-class literature and art that brings 180 more awesome figures from 30 countries around the world who will perform on one stage . From October 24-28, they will share stories, ideas and inspiration in 70 discussion panel sessions which will be located in the main venue, namely Taman Baca, Indus Restaurant, and NEKA Museum that can be visited during Bali tour.
There are more than 100 other programs consisting of film screenings, book launches, art exhibitions, Festival Clubs, and many more.
In addition to the Main Program in the form of discussion panels, Ubud Writers & Readers Festival also has a row of art programs that present poets, musicians, dancers, directors, and artists from Indonesia and other countries.
Some of these art programs are unpaid events that can be accessed by the public and enjoyed by anyone.
Literary lovers can meet writers from all over the world. Movie connoisseurs have the opportunity to talk with famous directors.
Art enthusiasts can admire various art installations and dissolve in the harmony of their favorite musicians and worshipers of poetry and words can also express themselves in the best container they need.
UWRF will satisfy the desire of book lovers by holding book launches in several locations around Ubud.
The themes and types of books also vary, from history to politics, novels to photo books and art enthusiasts can also enjoy art installations by the best artists from Indonesia.
UWRF visitors can also enjoy other art exhibitions such as GloBALIzation which illustrate the opposite culture and modernity, PAUSE; URBAN DECAY which presents urban space photography works, the Fertile Period of the works of Indonesian female artists, and many more.
For fans of poetry, UWRF provides space for expression to read their best work in Poetry and Expression Picnic sessions that will be held in Poetry Park.
In addition, UWRF also presents Women of Words Poetry Slam supported by PWAG Indonesia to celebrate feminism and diversity in a series of beautiful words.
The UWRF Closing Night Party is an art event full of music, dance and appreciation, which can be enjoyed from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday (10/28/18) at the Blanco Renaissance Museum.
