The manager of the development section of the Bali Edelwis Park, I Nengah Sueca, explained that the park covering an area of ​​31 acres was built from the idea of ​​citizens and youth living in the slopes of Mount Agung.
This idea arises when mountain activity decreases.
“Coming from the evacuation residents have the idea of ​​building a Bali Edelwis Park. June was built, and began operating in July. The workmanship is about one month,” Sueca explained.
The main purpose of the people who joined the Edelwis Park Group was to revive the economy of Temukus residents after the eruption of Mount. After the eruption, he said, the people’s economy was dead. It’s hard to live up to your needs.
With the establishment of Bali Edelwis Park, local residents are eager to revive their economy.
Some residents began trading around the Park. Employment opportunities for the community, such as youth, are even small.
“We build this in collaboration with residents who own land, and Bumdes Besakih. The result is that we divide it according to the agreed terms. The important thing is, the economy of the people around the mountainside is back to life,” he added.
For tourists visiting the Edelwis Park an average of 100 people per day. During holidays, such as Saturday and Sunday, visits of up to 200 to 300 people according to visitors to the beautiful Bali Edelwis Park. Tourists come from outside Karangasem, such as Badung, Klungkung, and Gianyar. Visitors admitted they were not afraid to visit because they were in a harmless zone, outside a four kilometre radius.
